There is a power behind this wall.  Power of death, for millions of humans, were gassed to death.  Yet, also a power of conviction to let it never happen again.  When Archbishop John J. Conner placed his hand on the red brick crematoria oven,

he received a life-transforming grace and vowed to do all he could, from that moment forward, to protect and enhance the sacredness of every human life, wherever it was most vulnerable.

As the Archbishop of New York, years later, he was a voice for the unborn within the church.   He knew that something big had to happen to see the fruit of the pro-life movement in the Church be fruitful. He tried to understand why the pro-life movement wasn’t seeing any fruits. He knew that something bigger had to be done.

When his eyes fell upon this passage from Scripture,

He knew he needed others within the church to join him with prayers and fasting, in a new charism, in a new religious community; Sisters of Life.

On June 1st 1991, 8 women entered the newly formed religious order called to defend, protect, and enhance the sacredness of every human life.  On March 25, 2004, thirteen years later Sisters of Life were officially approved with the Church as a Religious Institute of the diocesan.

Let us pray to Archbishop John Conner for the state of NY, for the governor, for all those who promote the killing of the unborn. He knew the scriptures was the key, that to defeat this demon of abortion, we need to pray and fast. Check out this post about using the Divine Mercy powerful prayer for the conversion of sinners especially those who promote abortion.

On this feast day of St. Jacinta and Fransico, whom Our Lady of Fatima appeared to and shared with them that:

“for many go to hell because there are none to sacrifice themselves and pray for them.”

St. Jacinta with her deep trust in Mary’s advice to pray very much and make sacrifices for sinners, will give us the courage and strength to defend all lives.  Her example will encourage us to pray and fast for all sinners.
