Saint Rose of Lima by Claudio Coello (1642–1693),
Saint Rose of Lima, the first canonized saint of the New World ,is a beauty and pure saint. Her feast day is coming up on August 23rd.
she was remarkable for a great reverence, and pronounced love, for all things relating to God. This so took possession of her that thenceforth her life was given up to prayer and mortification. She had an intense devotion to the Infant Jesus and His Blessed Mother, before whose altar she spent hours. She was scrupulously obedient and of untiring industry, making rapid progress by earnest attention to her parents’ instruction, to her studies, and to her domestic work, especially with her needle.” – Catholic Encyclopedia
A role model for today’s young ladies to obey, work hard, and love endless.
I am always amazed of the new things I learn of these saints during my research for the series of Sundays with the Saints. Did you know that St. Rose of Lima, foretold the exact date of her death? And so great were the numbers who came to her wake that they had to postpone the funereal for days.
“Apart from the cross there is no other ladder by which we may get to heaven.” St. Rose of Lima
Reading this quote of her gives us so much hope and peace in these days, where suffering is everywhere and it seems that our crosses are heavy. Yet if we use this ladder with love and joy, we are sure to reach our goal; HEAVEN!
St. Philomena.. oh, a dearest saint of mine. We just celebrated her feast day on August 11th but I wasn’t able to get my act together to write a post so I add-on here with St.Rose of Lima. These two lovely young lady are so much alike, ladies in roses.
St. Philomena is prayed to by people of diverse ages, culture and social standing around the world. The young virgin who was martyred at age 13, willingly traded her earthly life for heavenly salvation and continues her work today promoting the virtues of purity and sanctity among the world’s youth and bringing the faithful closer to our Blessed Mother and Jesus Christ. It would seem she was held in quiet reserve by God for nearly seventeen centuries and summoned at a time when so much uncertainty and absence of faith abound. – Sanctuary of St. Philomena
St. Philomena is such a dear saint to me. During the hardest time of my life, after losing Benedicto, we were bless to attend a very special mass at church in Philadelphia of the Shrine of St. Philomena (which has a first class relic of her), were the pastor of the Shrine in Italy where her body is , was attending this mass. The mass was pack to the max and we were there waiting for the start of the procession. I recall praying to her asking her to help me during this time of suffering and lose. A few minuets later, this over whelming smell of roses over came me. I had to take a quick seat due to the impact of the smell. I knew that she was there, she was bringing me a rose off the cross of Christ. I had this healing that knowing that this suffering is full of the sweetness and love of Christ.
Here are few books worth having in your library to celebrate their feast day.
St. Rose of Lima: The Story of the First Canonized Saint of the Americas (Stories of the Saints for Young People Ages 10 to 100) . My kids love this book, it such an easy read and nice read aloud (even the older ones stay behind to listen to it. )
I was honor to review this book. My young daughters enjoyed this take on Saint Philomena through the story of Sister Marie. Sister Marie does a lovely job of teaching about St.Philomena to our young readers. This books gives a great an example of living out virtues through Sister Marie as she tends to the poor, sick, helpless as well bring knowledge of an amazing saint. I sure hope that Author Christine Henderson continues to bring other saints to our readers through Sister Marie.
Here are some sweet crafts that can be added to celebrating their feast days.

I pray that you find this post helpful in celebrating more saints. You might be interest in our Immaculate Heart of Mary post as August is the month of Immaculate Heart.
As I am gearing up to start school next Monday, check out Back to School Big Sale we are having over at Hair Bows 4 Life .
With God’s merciful Love,
Did you know that Our Blessed Mother has a feast day dedicate to her for everyday of the year? We are truly bless!
On August 3rd (which happens to be my son’s 12th birthday) is the Feast day of Our Lady of Bows.
Our Lady of Bows was a shrine in London. It is related that in the year 1071 Mary’s image there had been carried away by a storm, together with more than 600 houses. It fell uninjured with such violence that it broke into the pavement, and sunk more than 20 feet into the earth, whence it was never possible to draw it out. –Roman Catholic Saints
I found it so interesting that even bows have our Lady’s blessing on them.
Yet, I have to admit that the shrine takes its name from the unusual Norma arches, or bows which were considered a novelty, not hair-bows.
Just amuse me and let me celebrate with some hair bows!
(Read to the end to check out our Major Back to School Sale)
St. Mary-le-Bow, City of London
It’s interesting history behind the Bells of Mary , is sure worth your time.
As well, it has had a rough history. The shrine has been destroyed 5 times; in 1071, was the tornado, in 1196 there was a fire, in 1271 the tower of church collapsed, in 1666 a great fire destroyed it and later is was completely destroyed by the German’s in WWII .
The shrine was rebuilt in 1964 and what a beauty it is!!
I would love to hear music coming out that Beautiful Organ!
August The Month of Immaculate Heart of Mary
The church dedicates August to Immaculate Heart of Mary. Before Vatican II , the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was celebrated on August 22nd.
St. John Eudes is considered the father of devotion to Immaculate Heart of Mary by Pope Pius X and his feast day is August 19th.
St. John brought people to love Christ and the Virgin Mary by speaking tirelessly about their Heart,
the sign of the love God shows for us and the communion to which we are called.
He wrote an amazing book to help others increase their devotion to Heart of Mary , The Admirable Heart of Mary , where he reveals a most pure and maternal of all hearts in its corporal and spiritual pulsations, while demonstrating how this human heart was divinized by the one Divine Heart of God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Here are some links of coloring pages, crafts, food, and gifts to celebrate all month-long!
Nancy over at Do Small Things with Love has a free cross stitch pattern.
Then one can light it all month-long during prayers or when saying the Novena to Immaculate Heart of Mary (a very nice kid’s print out to say this novena).

With the God’s Merciful Love,
We are getting ready to start another school year at the end of August, so we are having our BIGGEST Sale of the Year..
Today, the church honors the parents of Our Blessed Mother, St. Joachim and St. Anne, grandparents to Our Lord.
We are bless to know that we have St. Joachim and St. Anne as patron saints of grandparents and infertile couples.
Perfect time as we are also in the midst of NFP Awareness Week, Natural Family Planning.
NFP as stated by NFP Interenational is ,
NFP is a way of following God’s plan for achieving and/or avoiding pregnancy. It consists of ways to achieve or to avoid pregnancy using the physical means that God has built into human nature.
The key point here is following God’s plan and some times, God’s plan doesn’t go along with our plan. I can understand that to core of my being . Our NFP story isn’t much to tell really. We didn’t really focus on it before we got married nor did we think 4 months later, we would be blessed with being pregnant. All my life, All I dream of was to have a large family to fully love .
My case with NFP wasn’t always a happy one. I have to say that I had a love-hate relationship with it. I mean I thought, I am pro-life, open to life always, why did I need NFP.
But God in his great wisdom shares with me another take on NFP.
I imagine that it was going to be easy to have more children. Then we lost our very first son, Pablo de Cruz . It was a surprise pregnancy (I think all pregnancy are a surprise) yet again but one that we were so happy to see! The lost was a cut to core of my soul. NFP got really interesting since I really wanted to know what was going on with my body, why was I not pregnant again. We use NFP to help us achieve pregnancy with our healthy son.
After our son was born, we were yet blessed again with a pregnancy 8 months later which I gave birth to sweet baby girl. There was no time nor energy to really get into the NFP and 20 months later baby girl number 3.
I felt that I was living my dream, even thu it was crazy with 3 kids in diapers at one time and a six-year-old but I love it. Every minute it. I wanted more.
A year later after our latest baby girl was born, we lost a girl, Martha . It was hard times for me. It took a lot of time with NFP and trying to follow God’s plan. Fast forward two more years, pregnant with a sweet baby boy who never seen the beauty of this side of heaven . Losing Benditico was the most suffering I had ever endure in my whole life. No- one was meant to deliver a silent baby, NO-ONE was to endure that.
But in His greatest wisdom, He holds us through our suffering so that we can bring souls to His Mercy.
God must have really needed my suffering for some great cause that one day I pray that I will truly understand as once again, a year and half later, we lost our last son, Juan Deigo.
For a very long time, I felt so alone in the sense since I had four beautiful children whom am I to feel the pain of sub-infertile , to complain, to ache , to want more. I felt, I had too many for the secular world and not enough for the Catholic world…
There wasn’t much left in my core . I took NFP as an enemy for whatever crazy reason. I saw others who prevent pregnancy as selfish, lack of love. I was dead wrong. But since God out does us in generosity, He heal me in my brokenness and show me, that I don’t need another child, I needed HIM! Him alone. After that freeing moment , I never look at NFP or anyone else situations the same.
I just looked with love and mercy.
After 8 long years, I do have now a sweet baby girl who is the joy of my life along with her brother and 3 sisters. I am so blessed that I can’t even begin to count. But I have felt the hell of not achieve pregnancy for a long time and losing part of my heart to my Heavenly children. I have pray endlessly to this couple whom we celebrate today!
God is all good. His plan is perfect.
Now, remember we all have a story to tell, not inventory to count.
With the Love of Christ,
Cecilia @Hair Bows 4 Life
June 27th is the feast day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The story behind this beautiful icon is just stunning, it’s a story of obedience.
One night the Blessed Virgin appeared to the man in a dream, warning him not to keep the picture. Twice she appeared to him with this message, and both times he disregarded her warning. The third time she told him that if he continued to disobey her, he would die a miserable death. This time the man tried to persuade his wife to give up the painting, but she refused. Our Lady appeared to the man again to tell him of his impending death; within a short time, he became sick and died.
You can read more on this story over at this beautiful site of The Religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen.
Have you ever noticed the sandal hanging from our Lord’s feet?
Father James M. Sullivan explains the story behind the loosened sandal in Magnificat.
“The story behind the loosened sandal is an important one. The angels appeared to Christ, showing him the means by which he would die. Possessing both a child’s fear and a child’s trust in his mother, he ran to her, as fast as his feet could carry him, so fast in fact that the strap of one sandal loosened just as Christ jumped into his Mother’s waiting arms. It was then, at that moment, that he could finally look at his cross and the suffering that awaited him. By being close to her Immaculate Heart, his own Fear was strengthened.
WOW. What a beautiful image for us to use daily.
That if we run to our Mother Mary, that we stay close to her Immaculate Heart, we will be given the strengthen to face any fear, any suffering that awaits us.
Once again, Christ is the example that we need to follow close and faithfully. He shows once again, that we must trust in His Mother and run to her arms.
This coloring page will be a great help for children to see the meanings behind the symbols of this beautiful icon.
Christ’s hands, turned palms down into His Mother’s, indicate that He has placed the graces of the Redemption in her keeping. Our Lady’s hand does not clasp those of her Son, but remains open, inviting us to put our hands in hers along with those of Jesus. – Sister Mary Agatha, CMRI
O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on thee, for, in all my needs, in all my temptations I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary. – EWTN

When we started our business, Hair Bows 4 Life, 7 years ago, our main goal really was to bring awareness to the beauty of LIFE . We promised to donated at least 10% of each of our sales back into pro-life organizations that are at the front line of this war against the unborn. We have estimated about a thousand or more in donations. Now, that is really not a lot. But it is something. Our business has had many growing pains and for few years it almost seem dead. If you don’t give it water (love, time, hard work), it’s not going to grow.
Something happen this past April that has brought new life back into our small business. Or more like the breath of the Holy Spirit came to bring this business back to life. So we started to work at it hard, still working hard and done a lot in these few months. We gave it a new face-lift (no, seriously, we got a new cute spoke person) by updating the website and bow style. We added more social media outlets such as this blog , twitter, Instagram, and added life to facebook page. We actual have a business plan (who knew you should have a business plan… lol ).
You see in April, I got a copy of a book, Business Boutique: A Woman’s Guide for Making Money Doing What She Loves and started listening to Christy Wright’s podcast and started to believe that Yes, it is possible to have a successful business so that we can do our “WHY”. Our main ” WHY” behind this never-ending work is to promote the Gospel of LIFE all over the world. We can’t support these organizations and others without making our business a serious ones. It was time to move away from it being a hobby.
God inspired me 7 years ago to start this, to bring sweet bows with saints and our Blessed Mother to heads of little girls all over as well promoting the beauty of the unborn! He will ask me, what did I do , how well did I do what I was asked of.
The reason why I am explaining ourselves to you is that we will be sharing with you on Pro-Life Wednesday , our Pro-Life Organization of the week. We will run it for two weeks from a Wednesday to a Wednesday, and whatever we make in sells, they will get a % . We want to share with you our WHYs. So that you will see these organizations that we are giving to. There are so many amazing organizations that are working so hard in so many ways to defend LIFE at all stages!
This week we bring you some coffee with a stork.
Have you seen these Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis vans? They look amazing. Well, some are being use for amazing work as in the Save the Storks Vans. These vans are equipped with exam table, restroom, multiple seats for counseling, work space for sonogram machine and technician, multiple monitors and media inputs, a built-in iPad dock, internet connection, soft lighting, a mini refrigerator, air conditioning, and plenty of storage space.
Mercedes-Benz works with Save the Stork in an exclusive contract to build mobile pregnancy centers using a Sprinter chassis. Good job, Mercedes-Benz!
Save the Storks helps pregnancy centers get out and be mobile to help reach more mothers. To show these moms that there is more options than abortion. Their mission is amazing:
We exist to partner with pregnancy resource centers and give abortion-vulnerable women a choice that will change their lives forever. We partner with resource centers all over the nation, providing them with powerful tools and training to more effectively connect with those women in their communities. With the support of people like you, we’ve funded 54 buses (35 are on the road and another 19 in production), and saved over 1,000 babies.
This amazing organization started with a couple, Joe and Ann Baker, who vision was to have mobile medical units across country to serve those women who were vulnerable to abortions due to the fact they were not given many options. When they see their babies on that screen majority of them choose LIFE.
Their vision is simple yet genius: To have a mobile medical unit equipped with a counseling area and a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine, which allows pregnancy centers to show mothers an image of their baby. They want women to receive follow-up support with their local pregnancy centers so they make sure centers own and operate these vehicles as affiliates of Save the Storks.
They sell their own coffee !! Who doesn’t love coffee. I live on coffee! They select beans from around the world that makes a flavorful and smooth cup. They make sure they know where the beans are coming from as they have visited these farms. They make sure they are sourced in a way that honors the local growers and harvesters as well. Part of the proceeds of the sale of coffee go towards
helping moms make life-affirming decisions for their families and fueling a new generation of individuals passionate about the pro-life cause.
When you answer the call from God, He makes big things happen! So please check them out , if you can donate directly to them . We need more vans out in the front line fighting this war on LIFE.
We want to introduce our two new Pro-Life products that has been in the works and finally made it out to the store. Now, there is something for the whole family to wear!
After answering the call of demand, we just came out with a line of Boy’s Bow Tie which also includes this red Pro-Life awareness bow tie. It is made with burlap ribbon attach to an alligator clip making it easy to attach to dress shirt. There is a tiny silver-plated feet in a corner. This size represent the actually size of a 10-week baby in the womb. Amazing!
The red is to represent the blood that has been lost in the innocence of the unborn and their mothers.
We also came out with another new Pro-Life product for moms, grandmothers, all women, our Precious Life Lily Pin . This lily flower has a golden-plated precious feet center which it is attached on a broochel locked pin.
Please pray and fast to end abortion. Please love, be compassion and take some type of action.
With His Merciful Love,
Cecilia @Hair Bows 4 Life
If you know of a pro-life organization that would like to be feature at our Pro-Life Wednesday Series, please contact us by leaving a comment or email us at email@example.com
Sacred Heart of Jesus devotion is based entirely upon the symbolism of the heart. It is this symbolism that imparts to its meaning and its unity, and this symbolism is admirably completed by the representation of the Heart as wounded. Since the Heart of Jesus appears to us as the sensible sign of His love, the visible wound in the Heart will naturally recall the invisible wound of this love.
Jesus showed Himself to Sr. Margaret Mary in a way that she could understand – with a human heart aflame with love. He told her that He would be present in a special way to those devoted to His Sacred Heart and that His presence would lead to peace in families, the conversion of sinners, blessings in abundance and perseverance when death was near.
To know God’s love in Jesus and to share it with others is the central message of the gospels. There has been no change in this message for two thousand years. Ways of explaining our faith may change, forms of prayer may be altered, certain devotions may come in and out of style, but at the core is the loving heart of Jesus, which remains constant and true.
The message of the Sacred Heart is one of God’s deep and intimate love for us. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is an integral part of our Catholic heritage because it helps us to live the basic Christian message of faith and love. – Fr. Thomas Rosica
We will celebrate the Feast of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 23rd.
We found a sweet country church near us, Sacred Heart of Jesus were we have been going to mass and adoration on Fridays. There is sweet young priest from Poland who is so in love of Our Lord, that makes you want to bottle him up and share with everyone. I’m looking forward to my son servicing with Father on Fridays so that he see up close and personal a priest who loves and honor Our Lord.
We have been especially going on First Fridays so that Our Lord can blessed us with his promises!
I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
I will give peace in their families and will unite families that are divided.
I will console them in all their troubles.
I will be their refuge during life and above all in death.
I will bestow the blessings of Heaven on all their enterprises.
Sinners shall find in my Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
Tepid souls shall become fervent.
Fervent souls shall rise quickly to great perfection.
I will bless those places wherein the image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored and will imprint My love on the hearts of those who would wear this image on their person. I will also destroy them all disordered movements.
I will give to priests who are animated by a tender devotion to my Divine Heart the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart, never to be effaced.
I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who communicate on the First Friday in nine consecutive months, the grace of final penitence: they will not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their Sacraments. My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.
The Nine Fridays must be made in honor of His Sacred Heart, meaning, practicing the devotion and having a great love of His Sacred Heart. They must be on the first Friday of the month for nine consecutive months, and Communion must be received.
In a word, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whether considered in His divinity or in His humanity, is more
ardently enkindled with love for His Father, loving Him infinitely more at any given moment, than
all the hearts of angels and saints together can love Him throughout all eternity.
There is no greater love than to give one’s life for the person one loves. The Son of God so loves
His Father that He would be ready to sacrifice His own life again, as He sacrificed it upon the Cross,
and to sacrifice it by suffering the same torments for the love of His Father (if such were God’s holy
will) that He suffered on Calvary
St. John Eudes words are just inspiring and helps one to really feel and want the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

He loves her most ardently because she cooperated with Him in the accomplishment of His
great work of the Redemption of the world. Her cooperation was to, give Him a mortal body capable of
suffering and of sustaining the torments of His Passion. She also imparted to Him the Precious Blood
which He shed for us, and she offered that body, that blood, and that life as a sacrifice at the foot of the

Darkness fell across the state of Delaware yesterday, as the House vote yes on SB 5 which will legalize Late Term Abortions.
My heart is so heavy that I can’t seem to move to a different thought than that of all the innocent lives who are at risk of death. The unborn babies were given a sentence to death by men and women in a suits.
At one time, Delaware was our home and is now one of the most pro-death abortion state. We now live in the state of Mississippi, one of the most pro-life states in the union.
I wonder what goes inside the minds of these men and women who voted yes to murder . What happen? Where did the evil close their eyes to the truth and beauty of LIFE?
When I read about the bill detail last night, I noticed the time which the House passed this law was at 6:23pm.
I couldn’t help but to look up in the Holy Bible, Matthew Chapter 6 verse 23.
What darkness it is! But I will not let this darkness be the disease of my soul, of my peace, of my love.
No, we will keep fighting the good fight!!!
After the post on the Zookeeper’s Wife, people asked, “How can I do more for the Pro-Life movement from home?”
Here are just somethings that can be done to keep on fighting this evil of darkness.
Pray and Fast. Pick a day that you will pray and fast to end this evil. Pray for the abortion doctors, nurses, politicians. Find their names. Pray for them by their names. Fast for them!
Be the Light of Christ. Love. Have a merciful love for all humans. See Christ in everyone you meet. Smile. Love your family, first.
Be Social. Use social media what social media is best for. Spread the word. Find some pro-life Facebook pages that inform you on the Pro-Life movement. Next, Share, Share, Share.
Adopt a baby. Spiritually adopt a baby. Give them a name. Pray for them.
Support pro-life organizations that are in the front line of this battle for LIFE. Give to them $5 , the cost of latte . Monthly, weekly? Whatever you can. Switch organizations. Make it a family event to read up on organizations and what they do and ask the kids to vote where to donate. Ask them to donate as well.
Involve the whole family and start young so that it is in their nature (which it should be in everyone’s ones) to be pro-life and to defend ALL LIVES!
Mother Teresa, pray for us!
With the Love of God’s Mercy,
Have you ever thought that to end the war on abortion, we can win it from the inside ?
I truly believe that changing the laws of abortion, will not stop abortions. Yes, many will be save due to the law but abortion will still go on.
WE need to change the hearts and lives of those on the inside!
Don’t we want to save that one sheep?
Our Lord Jesus Christ, went out to find that one lost sheep while he had 99 sheep in this flock. He made a great point in say thing that He needed to find that one sheep.
While we fight to end the law of abortion and win over the hearts of those who are for it, we must do what it takes to find that one lost sheep.
That sheep is an abortion worker.
ATTWN is nonprofit organization that exists to help abortion clinic workers leave the abortion industry.
ATTWN is pro-life without exceptions and support all peaceful pro-life efforts, ATTWN seeks to end abortion from the inside out.
You see, those abortion workers are human as well. Since we as pro-lifers believe that ALL lives Matter. Then these workers lives matter to Christ, matter to us.
His mercy doesn’t pass judgment. His mercy is for all!
ATTWN shows His mercy to abortion workers. They help them get out of this evil work into a place where they can heal, forgive themselves and protect other lives!
6 Ways they help these lost sheep!
Financial: Once they finally get a worker’s proof of their resignation from the clinic, they provide one month of income replacement. Money is almost the key to holding them to a job a bit longer. These workers can be single moms who have bills to pay. Transitional financial assistance is a key in helping them take that first step
Legal: These workers have been a part of or witnessed illegal activity at their clinics. ATTWN have attorneys in all 50 states. They will offer them legal protection and representation. Another plus to this has been that the lawyers have been use for testimony of the workers to close down abortion clinics.
Employment. They have a team of professional resume writers and professional recruiters who help them find jobs in their city. They also have a large list of contacts in every city in America who are willing to hire these workers. Some are now working with pregnancy resource centers and helping women choose life. WOW!
Emotional: They assigned each worker to a Client Manager that will be there and help them through this painful journey toward healing and finding forgiveness. They use a relationship-driven model of ministry as in listening, giving advice, praying, and offering other emotional support. Everything is private and if need be professional counseling is given.
Spiritual: Any worker that leaves this evil , this darkness heads to the light, a spiritual conversion. They connect them to healthy, vibrant churches in their areas and Christian pastors who can help them continue to grow spiritually. Their Client Manager is also available to pray and provide spiritual support at any time, as much as needed. There is also a section where you can partner with them with prayers.
Retreats: They will host all expense paid to healing retreats each year. They have several ” phases” of retreats and they encourage all the former workers to join in the healing program.
They are the face of Christ bringing home His lost sheep.
Abby Johnson’s story is amazing one. Her book Unplanned: The Dramatic True Story of a Former Planned Parenthood Leader’s Eye-Opening Journey across the Life Line is a book you can’t put down. It gives you an insight to how easy it is for a young women get sucked into the work of evil without even planning it .
Again, an amazing story that we are giving away a copy of this dramatic true story!
They have help about 350 workers leave the abortion industry!
As a direct result of the testimony of these workers, several clinics have been permanently shut down. More to Come!!
ATTWN makes a major great point, you see the abortion industry, especially Planned Parenthood know , that a former employee is lethal to their industry!
No abortion clinic workers, no abortion clinics, no abortions. It starts with the workers.
Please visit and if you can make a donation of any size but most of all, pray for their work and protection from the evil one who knows the great danger ATTWN is to ending this war on Unborn.
With Christ’s Merciful Love,
How about this Zookeeper’s Wife approach to the war on LIVES?
On Sunday, June 4th , the Catholic Church will celebrate Pentecost! It’s a party for sure!
The coming of the Holy Spirit as promised by our Lord to the disciples is Christ’s love for us and his bride, the Catholic Church!
I have been meditating using ST.Bonaventures book St. Bonaventures Life of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ .
I highly recommend since it was highly recommend by a great saint, St. Francis De Sales. So when I read about Pentecost, I wrote the quote above in my prayer journal as well the one below.
For which reason, he who truly desires to serve God, should endeavor, in this holy solemnity, to be inflamed with love or at least to be enkindled with a vehement desire of being so free from any mixture of the love of this world. – St. Bonaventures
Those are some words to ponder! IF we love our God, this feast must be filled with love , INFLAMED with LOVE for Him.
How hard is not to desire but to actually be free from any mixture of the love of this world!! Lord help me!
But we can teach this to our children; the beauty of this feast day of Holy Spirit and teach them to be inflamed with love for the Church.
We can live it as we celebrate these feasts day and the great saints. We shower them with God’s love and mercy; the Church!
We love this coloring book,Coloring Book about the Holy Spirit yet here are some other sweet coloring pages for all ages.
We can’t have a party without some crafts!
There are some great ideas of snacks from What Can We Leave Out.
It’s a Birthday Party! Celebrate it with a Cake!!
I love God’s Canvas ‘s simple yet elegant cake!
We beseech you, O Lord, let the power of the Holy Spirit be always with us;
